In the 2nd or 4th quarter, after the 2 minute warning...if you run out of bounds with the ball or get a first down, the clock will stop

The rule has not changed however if the game is a landslide and both coaches agree the official can keep the clock running for safety reasons

It stops in college games. I don't really watch the NFL, but I found a history of rule changes that is very interesting.

No, it hasnt changed, the clock stops when the runner steps out of bounds. That's why at the end of the game when ever someone catches the ball they are always looking to get out of bounds.

nope they havent changed it at all. the clock stops. end of game people run out of bounds for a reason not just to not get tackled.

I don't think they changed the rule, and a rule as "classic" as that, meaning such an integral part of the game since "God-knows-when", I can't imagine anyone crazy enough to change that rule. God Bless you.
