I was wondering, how do you create a computer program? Do you USE a program to create a program? When I say PROGRAM, I mean like AOL or Internet Explorer. Something like that. What language do you write programs in? I would really appreciate any information that you might have! Thanks for reading!

Programs are written in one of the many computer languages and then compiled into a program by a compiler program designed for that language.

Best Helper - it's a pretty horrible idea to tell someone like Alex to start off with C/C++. And C# _is_ .Net (framework).

Alex - no, one doesn't use a "program" as AOL or Internet Explorer to make other programs. Programs are written as computer code. The code is then translated into a program via a compiler or interpreter.

Ruby is by far the best programming language to learn - it's elegant, clean to read, easy to understand, and most importantly it comes with an interactive interpreter, so you can play with your code as you type.
