I think that it is a Wonderful idea.

I believe that the best gifts come from the Heart.

With Christmas being way to Commercialized, it is better too give something personalized then a store bought. It has more meaning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Those are Good ideas!
Try these: a fleece blanket, mugs, a plate, all from the Dollar Store, packets of cocoa mix, a tin of cookies, and anything else you want like a blockbuster gift certificate, a candle, some of those pine cones that make a fire sparkle with color or some fireplace matches [if you know the person has a fireplace] Call it a night by the fire or TV night kit.
A big bowl, you could get a cute one that says "snacks," or a cheap plastic one from the discount store, lots of individual snacks like popcorn, peanuts, chips, and put in a a Blockbuster gift card.
You had a good idea with the emergency cell phone charger, you could make an emergency basket: flashlight, batteries, the charger, extra batteries, a jumper cable, a tire pressure guage, a tiny first aid kit[couple bandaids, some peroxide, a couple 4x4s, a new washcloth, find a cheap tool box to put them in, a screwdriver, an emergency candle, waterproof matches [purchased, or some from the bank in a baggie].
Hope this helps. Merry Christmas!

I definitely know how it is to be tight on money! I think that the gift is a great idea! It will be very equal for everyone and useful. It does not suck at all! And really, if the people to receive the gifts are adults, they will be grateful for the everyday items. I really like the idea.

It all sounds lovely! I am sure your receivers will enjoy theirs. Some suggestions for the variations: bubble bath if for females, sport body wash if for men. Keychains are nice too. Maybe a video or dvd or cd from the Dollar Tree. I have made gift bags with items from the Dollar Tree and Dollar Store and they looked liked I had spent alot and people loved them.

Sounds like a pretty nice gift since all the things in the basket are quite useful. I think it's fine, especially since you and your hubby are tight on money - it's nice you've gotten creative and still come up with a nice gift.

present playing cards are an excellent concept. choose shops/eating places that you already know for constructive is only no longer going out of agency; which incorporates best Buys, objective, Starbucks, Apple Bees, Kohl's, an in intensity to purchase mall, and so on. i'd not choose Circuit city tho. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I think you spent just as much as if you got them a regular gift it sounds allright if they like stuff like that but I'm sure non of the above items are something they need. There are so many sales out there you can find some neat stuff for cheap right now at all dept. stores and bed bath and beyond has lots of stuff also! Good Luck!
