Well, Descartes said "I think, therefore I am."
You ask, essentially, "would you KNOW if existence was turned off and then on again?"
During the time existence is gone, you are not thinking or aware.
How can you possibly be aware of the lack of existence if you yourself do not exist when it is turned off?
I think the answer is that nobody would notice. What kind of memory would I have in my mind if existence stopped for a few years? How could my mind perceive it?
Are you also asking, "Is the mind independent of existence?"

Light does not equal existance, but life depends on light.
If light was gone for a second, I would still be living. Light off for a billion years means no life, and existance is a moot point.
Your analogy is faulty

A light turned off for a second is detectable. As I am an existent of the totality existence, I would go off when it does. So, no, no one would know.

Not if you turned it off in your room, which I can't see. We wouldn't be able to tell if you turned off existence, because nothing could or would change. A person couldn't turn it back on though, because they wouldn't exist.

So, you're positing that existence is a light switch and asking us to respond to a question about the existence of generations with a yes/no answer?
I choose not to accept the light-switch metaphor, respectfully.

If you turned off existence; it would be off. Stop trying to be profound, you are not very good at it.

Uh... no. Considering I wouldn't exist either. And because I don't exist I wouldn't be able to flip the switch again.

Maybe if you turned off the main switch.........But you'd have to die and go to heaven to get the key.............
And a hell only subcontracts
So if I told you I see dead people would you believe me?
