There was Dushan the Great, in Serbia, as well, yet.....
Napoleon emerged as a REPUBLICAN fighting for CIVIL RIGHTS and Republique Française. Eventually turned out to crown himself an Emperor.
Yes, he was Great, and he has done a lot of Great Things for his country and a nation. But, he was NOT neither a king or an Emperor by birth (like the other Greats...) he was a republican hypocrite who become an Emperor, thus cannot be named....the Great.

Napoleon became surely of wide-spread top for the era at 5'7". however the belief of him being small comes from British papers on the time (the Tory social gathering commonly depicted him as shorter than wide-spread in the papers) and the version between the French pouce and the British inch. the two have been meant to be a million/12th of a foot, however the pouce became slightly bigger than the inch meterically talking. type of talking the pouce became 2.seventy one cm to the inches 2.fifty 4 cm, a difference of .17 cm. So if the mathematics have been executed, subtracting .17 for each cm in top then Napoleon could come out shorter in British inches.

it's because he didn't do such big things in France as for instace Peter did. Peter transformed Russia and helped set things straight. Although, Napoleon succeeded in BATTLE and conquering also. But, he did change economy and establish certain laws. Probably, it was because of his personality. It was complicated and he wasn't well-liked, just a determined person.

It is not necessary. When someone talks about "Peter" or "Frederick", there is some doubt as to whom they mean. If someone says "Napoleon", everyone knows right away who is being discussed. That is a sign of immortality, don't you think?

"Great" seems to be reserved for those who have had a lasting impact on history - who changed the course of a nation or beyond. Nothing Napoleon did lasted a generation after his death.
