Play the part be the character, Why are you kissing this guy? because you love him? If you know who you are in the role and realize that its a character things will go smoothly. plus get to know the person your acting with form a bond of friendship that most actors do and you will be more comfortable kissing this person, because they are probably filling the same anxieties as you.

As an actress you must become a different person. Talk with the male lead so he will play his part well. Then ask the director what type of kiss is necessary.
If you are truly the person in the play, and not yourself you should be able to accomplish the kiss with few problems.

Great! Congrats on your lead!!! :D
First off, don´t think of it as YOU kissing this GUY you hardly know. Think of it as characters. If you are acting as someone different, then it will be a lot easier. YOU might be uber nervous, but would your character be? And think about it, a kiss (assuming a simple one) is not so tough. Have you ever kissed a family member? No big deal right? Anyway, best of luck...er, wait....break a leg!

I feel your pain! My first stage kiss was with a guy who had a crush on my sister! Haha! But don't sweat the small stuff... I would suggest telling your director once you start rehearsals if you're not feeling comfortable with that specific part of the play. I know my director made the guy who was playing my boyfriend and I stay after rehearsal one day to work on that specific scene. Just about 20 minutes of working on that one part and we had it down perfect. Honestly, though, it will become easier with time as you get to know him and feel more comfortable with him.
BEST WISHES!!!

If it's a peck--it's a breeze. I had the best chemistry on stage with this one guy that I hated in real life. Otherwise, you are going to have to practice with the guy away from the rest of the cast. Chances are, he's just as nervous as you are if not even more. it's acting. it has to look real--not feel real.

if it's simply a little peck, then just sort of close your eyes and go for it. however, if it's for something that requires a little tongue, you might need to practice on someone or something. i did it once with an apple. sounds weird, but it helps. and it will most likely be really awkward at first, but as rehearsals go on, it will get easier.

just remember why you are in the play in the first place be cool about it and it will be just fine if your are really freaking out to go to the director and talk with them about it so thy know to help you with it when the time comes and you will know that they are aware that you are nervous about it and that will help.
