I have athma and suffer from fatiuge. There is a product that the convenience stores around me sell that helps calm my athma and helps ward off my fatiuge. The product contains ephidrine(a bronchial dialator) and Guaffenasine(an expectorant). Today when I whent to buy it the cashier informed me of a new law which says that to buy the product I had to present to my drivers license which she took and wrote its information in a book. I asked why and she said it is a form of control.(What does that mean?). Governmental control? The information she wrote in the book - how is that going to be used? Who gets it and why? Do "They" think they are going find me and kick my *** because I use the product? (I hope they try!) or to count me as a criminal? If a criminal, who did I commit the crime against? And if it is a crime to use the product, why are they letting it be sold OTC? Are they just after me or are there others they are after? I hope it is only me! Signed: You know who...Me! hehehe.

The law changed to prevent people from making meth out of antihistamines like Sudafed. There was a huge problem with people buying cases of these OTC drugs.
I don't agree that the government should record your name or any other identifying data. I think it would be OK to limit the purchase to one package, though.

A lot of asthma medications can either be abused or contain ingredients that are used to make drugs, mainly Methanphetamines. Its the same with Sudaphed, if you try to buy it you are required to show that you are over 18 as the main users of the drugs are minors.

While it does seem quite controlling, its only to keep minors from using drugs and making sure nobody is buying mass quantities of it.

People use that medication to make meth so there's laws now that limits how many a person can buy in a certain amount of time, also, they are probably making sure that you are an adult as kids have been taking those types of medications to get high.

Those who abuse the system use these over the counter drugs and a few prescription drugs to make PCP. Easy to get and the mark up price is supposed to be astronomical.

Some of these items are used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

They keep track of how much of these products you purchase and how often to make sure you aren't using them to make "meth"
