You know, I'm not sure how I feel on executing people for certain. Although I support possible executions and botched ones too.

Morally right? No. I don't believe there is anything morally right about the taking of life no matter what the circumstances. Justified? Possibly but I don't believe I am qualified to make the decision to end a life and I'm not sure anyone is. I'm not saying the worst criminals don't deserve to die - but I do believe there are far worse things than death. Torture for instance - also morally wrong. Perhaps the wronged person, or the closest relative should be allowed the final decision on what the appropriate punishment should be - perhaps they are the only ones with the right to judge. Incidentally, I believe all forms of execution in use today are barbaric - but I expect that's part of the punishment!

An eye for an eye. Either Old sparky, lethal injection or other methods are a ok with me. By the time the dirty deed is actually enacted there have been so many appeals, sooooo much time has passed usually the prisoner has had many more chances at saving his sorry life than any of his victims ever had.

For certain? For sure, for sure?

I go back to the ancient books. If a thief comes in the night to rob, rape, and murder, then all civilized persons must do their utmost to kill him first.

After the fact of a murder, it is for the benefit of all society that the mad dog be put down. I do not believe that any form of execution is extreme, or causes pain.

The objective is to end that life, in as detached a manner as is possible, but, there is no way to avoid absolutely all the pain that the evil one will endure.

Only one thing is certain, that the evil murderer will die a much more peaceful death than did the innocent person(s) he executed, with no hope of any parole from his black heart!

I hate the death penalty for two reasons: first, some mistakes have been made and will be made, and second, I hate to see the state killing people.

OK, that said, I don't hate in enough to stop it. There are so many sorry SOBs out there who need the ultimate punishment. People like Ted Bundy, John Gacy, Jeffery Dalmer and Tim Mc Veigh either got the BIg Sleep or should have gotten it. They are trash to the world and traitors to their species.

So I hate it, but some folks deserve it.

No, because for one I don't trust the 'justice' system, human error and just plain incompetence.

If someone did something really bad, put them in jail for life, and if they got a bum rap, let them out and compensate them for all the money they lost being locked up, having any property seized, etc.

Yes I feel that for many crimes it is the only appropriate response. Rape, premeditated murder, child molestation and distributing drugs. It may not deter anyone else, but there will not be any repeats
