Absolutely! He needs to find a place of power by controlling a weaker person. This also leads to a lot of physical abuse in many cases.

Best Wishes,

Sue

Yes. This is true. Controlling another person is a way of trying to make up for ones own insecurities. The controller is a very insecure, scared, person with low self esteem. Controlling a woman helps him feel confident, as though he has something in his life under controll. He will take away your family, friends, and even your job. He wants you to be surrounded only by him and his world. He will accuse you of infidelities ( all due to his low self esteem and great fear of losing you- losing controll). When you become a stronger person and start to "defy" him, he may become verbally and /or physically abusive. Try to hold on to whatever friends or family you can. Become strong and leave. I speak from experience. In reality, you are a much stronger person than he is. Get the self esteem that he doesn't have and leave quick.

YES I AGREE!!!!!!!!! WHEN A MAN IS CONTROLLING IT MAKES A RELATIONSHIP REALLY HARD AND BITTER.. AND YES A MAN THAT IS CONTROLLING FOR SURE HAS A LOW SELF ESTEEM WHY ELSE WOULD HE BE CONTROLLING. I HATE THAT TYPE OF MEN THEY MAKES YOU FEEL AS LOW AS THEY ARE... THE BEST THING IS TO KNOW WHEN YOU ARE IN A CONTROLLING RELATIONSHIP AND TO GET OUT FAST!!

thats a very interesting question. I would have to say YES, I feel a person who is controlling is hiding something. They have a weakness, thats why the feel the need to control.
Because if they can control someone, that means , THEY are in control.
Life is way too short for bull like that. Just my opinion. Feel free to contact me via e-mail or yahoo IM, would love to chat more about this. e-mail- six7@hotmail.com

The nature of the man is to be controlling , but I would make a good answer for you if you tell us what he does exactly .

Yes, and the controlling will turn to jealousy, where he won't want you to have a life outside him, eventually he'll want you to turn away from your friends and family, saying they cause problems. And 9 times out of 10 it will probably turn violent, get out while you can!

yes i agree i was married to a man like that, who needed to control things, and if things did not go his way he wanted me to just leave and go somewhere else. it was his way or the highway. i believe actually he did not even like himself. as how u treat others is really how u feel about yourself inside.
