First off I'll be praying for you. This must be very hard for you and your children. Especially at Christmas time. Not having any knowledge of the circumstances my assumption would be that you and he are still on good terms and plan on continuing your marriage?
That is important! It is also important not to lie to your children, be honest with them and answer their questions, keeping in mind their ages and gearing the level of detail to that. As well allow them to at least talk to Dad on the phone and write him letters, if you are comfortable with it let them visit their Dad.
Check with the jail to see if they will allow Dad to visit with kids in a less scary room and if they may know of a support group for children and spouses in your situation.
You are going to need alot of support because it is a hard road that your family is travelling. Above all remember that it is'nt your fault and you are not alone.
If you need to talk feel free to message me or email me anytime. I know people who have been there before.
God Bless and stay calm. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
P.S Don't pay any heed to the insesitive and sarcastic comments of many people on here.

Verbal abuse often escalates to physical abuse...throwing a remote could be a preview of things to come. Do I think calling the police over a remote is right? Well, maybe, depending on how fearful you felt but I'd have sooner just left him.

You find a job if you don't have one.... get help from resources in your area.... and take care of those children. You have to do what single mothers always do.... survive. And if the husband is not innocent.... dump him. He's bad news and you will have a crappy life with a criminally minded person.
Best Wishes,
Sue

Keep moving on. If possible look for support form his or your parents.Make sure the kids know he does love them, and if him going to jail isn't a first then talk to him.

Apply for support from your local economic serivces department. A lot of them have "reach up" programs that provide assistance , especially if you are not working. They will also give you information on child care and help you find work if you are not working currently.

Probably go on welfare and let us taxpayers foot the bill. If your not working then look for a job. What kind of example do you want to set for your kids. Daddy aint doing so well.
