I ask a question but before i can finish the person assumes that they all ready know the answer. I didn't finish the question!!!! Why do some people do this?

Many people might be surprised that you asked THEM. Others want to be right, fast. Like the kid in school who always raised her/his hand before the teacher had finished. It makes them feel better to be first. Often and publicly.

In the course of my work, I have opted to alter the question at the end, just to giggle (inside) at their surprise. Not in front of a group, of course!:)

Please do not anyone take offense...my 6yo nephew asked me this question...

At the North Pole, Santa heard a soft
Knock, knock..
"Who's There? he called.
No answer. But then another soft
Knock, Knock.
Santa opened the door, saw one of his workshop staff and asked
"Why didn't you answer?"
Came the timid response,
I have low elf-esteem...

Listening is a skill that most of us never really master. Most of us are too self-absorbed to wait and really listen to the other person. In their anxiety to give you the correct answer they stop listening in order to think of their response.
