I want to start using tampons. I know how to use them and everything. My friend uses Carefree slim with the silk ease applicator. She says that they are very comfortable. I was wondering what some of you think of their tampons. Thank you!

The slim and silk ease are going to seem a
*little* more easy to insert but really, once you get them in you just don't know they're there. I honestly can't tell much difference in these new brands which is why I've gone back to the less expensive, OBs.
Tampons are the way to go, though. Because you don't have the sense of wearing anything all day. You'll see.
The only possible discomfort is in inserting a tampon when the area is very dry--ouch. Then it can be uncomfortable both inserting and, rarely, pulling it out. If that happens to you you can keep a cute little container of vaseline or better yet, some water based personal lubricant nearby and simply put a few drops of the lubricant onto the tip of the tampon before inserting. Not much I can suggest about that pain when removing. Just make sure it's not a product that causes you any irritation like some of the lubricants can.

I've never used carefree, but I have used Playtex & Tampax. They are both comfortable and easy to insert, once you get the hang of it.

OB tampons were always the most comfortable for me.
they are small and short so you dont have this huge tube of cotton in you.
the only downside is they have no applicator so you have to insert them with your finger. at first it was weird but i always practice good handwashing anyway!

I prefer tampax tampons sport.
