I'm in Emin....so im working with:

I dont really have a progression down.
Lets say Im going

Em - G - Amin - C

How can I go into a major key from here? Are there any set rules?

Move to the relative major key (G Major) or to the parallel major key (E Major). To get to the parallel major, you can try a transition with the dominant chord (V chord, which, in this case, is B-D#-F#). Think about melodic minor scales where the 6th and 7th scale degrees are raised a half step or the harmonic minor scale where just the 7th scale degree is raised. I hope this helps a little bit.

the best way to Smoothly go from any minor key to a major key is by using a scale. Play the E minor scale then immediatly after it play the E major scale and there you are in key of E major and from there you can go into any major scale you desire. There are no rules These days if you were working in baroque or other eras yes but todays music, no rules just do what sounds good to you. Some people just start playing in major but smoothely do it with minor to major scale actually try c scale it is pretty easy and many keys have the same notes as it

G major is the key that works with E minor the best.
