sims 2 vacuum cleaner?

In The Sims 2 for the DS when i suck up a pile of dust and there is something in it. i drag and drop the item into the vacuum tube and it displays what it is. where does the item then go? its not in my pockets/inentory. sombody needs their ladybugs back and i just sucked up a bunch of them. i want to give them to him but i cant find the ladybugs in my inventory. what do i do?

I have played that game several times and I don't remember anyone ever asking for ladybugs. I will say this eveything you suck up in that vacuum is gone for ever, so there is no way to retrieve them.
