The deep freezer is a chest top type, in really clean condition, looks brand new & was working fine when I first saw it. In fact, the inside walls were frosty!! After moving it home, I plugged it up & nothing happened.... it will not cool. Is there a reset button or something else preventing me from getting it to work agian!?

That happened to us once--did not work when we got the used one home. Call the seller immediately and work something out. They may give you your money back or some of it. That would be the right thing to do. But call them now.

I would never buy a used refrigeration appliance. I would wonder
why they are selling it in the first place. It may have a leak that
is hard to fix and gave it a shot of freon and by the time you got
it home, it leaked out. It could be legitamate and you broke a
freon line by moving it around too roughly. and it could be something simple like a wire shook loose someplace - maybe
on the compressor. If the compressor runs, then it is probably
a leak. If I sold it to you in good faith - I would not guarantee it
or take it back, unless I delivered and set it up. How would I
know what you did with it? But give it a try ! I have never seen a
reset button on one, but I dont know everything, so take a look.

Did you tip the freezer while you were moving it? Doing so causes the refrigerant to shake, introducing bubbles. If you plug it in immediately thereafter, the compressor may burn up. This may or may not be permanent. Some have a safety device to prevent damage to the motor.

For now, unplug the freezer and make sure it is set level. Let it sit for a while, at least 8 hours, but 24 to be sure. Try it again after this.

Unbelievable that someone would stoop so low. And the benefit to them of removing those starred questions? Okay, obviously that would be a drawback to having your questions and answers public. The plus side of having them public is that anyone can read the answers, and someone might really benefit from the information. The person deleting these questions is probably watching to see what you star. That person could report the question, but wouldn't YA make it so the only person who can delete the question is the person who posted it? Otherwise, everyone whose questions are public is open to that happening. Doesn't seem fair. Is there someone who's supposed to monitor the activity on here and make sure stuff like that isn't happening? The only other person who might be able to delete questions is a moderator who finds the question offensive. That said, one topic that seems okay to some people (say religious or political in nature) might be seen as offensive by others but is not worthy of being deleted. So where do you draw the line on offensive? So how do you find out who's doing this? Why would someone be stalking you? What can the rest of us (and you in the future) do to prevent something like this from happening?

The freezer should have a reset button on the back of it. Try unplugging it for a few hours to let things rest. Plug it back in, and push the reset button. If it doesn't kick on, check the plug itself, it could have a loose wire. If all fails, call a local repair man, most give free estimates.

That is odd. How did you transport it home? Someone might have dropped it or damaged it and didnt tell you. Return it if you bought it used. You should have a warranty of sorts.
All refrigerating appliances must be transported right side up due to the liquid refrigerant which could leak out.
It should be allowed to resettle to its place for at least 24 hrs before you plug it back.

Sounds like the cold sensor went out, they can do that after the freezer sits unplugged. it,s a cheap part but you need somebody who knows how to put it in.
