Make sure that you're relaxed. Things will be alot easier if you just relax. As stated before, there will be a little booklet inside the box. Sit down on the toilet and calm yourself and read the instructions. Also, if you're needing to use a tampon, you can simply wipe with toilet paper and see where the blood is coming from.

Please be aware of the risks of using tampons. Be sure that you're using the right absorbency. If you use something that's too powerful you can get toxic shock syndrome which, in some cases, can cause death.

Also remember to change your tampon frequently to avoid any bacteria problems. If you change it each time you go to the restroom you should be fine. And if you remove it and notice that it's pretty much NOT soaked, then you need to use a less absorbent tampon.

This isn't something to be embarassed about at all. All females go through this and most any woman would be more than happy to explain it to you.

You may be worried and nervous about using your first tampon. Talk to your mom or a friend who has used tampons. It is important to first learn how to use a tampon and then, just relax! The more you relax, the easier the insertion will be. When you are nervous, your muscles tense up, making insertion even harder. For your first time, you may want to try using a tampon when your menstrual flow is heavy; this should allow the tampon to glide in more easily. Choose the smallest size tampon for the first time. By following these simple guidelines, and those that come with your package of tampons, your first experience with tampons should be easy.

Sit or stand in a comfortable position. Some women prefer to place one leg on the toilet seat or tub, while others prefer to squat down. After you find a position that is most comfortable for you, hold the tampon with the fingers that you write with. Hold the middle of the tampon, at the spot where the smaller, inner tube inserts into the larger, outer tube. Make sure the string is visible and pointing away from your body.

With your other hand, open the labia (the folds of skin around the vaginal opening) and position the tampon in the vaginal opening.

Gently push the tampon into the opening, aiming for the small of your back. Stop when your fingers touch your body and the applicator, or outer tube, is completely inside the vagina.

Once the applicator or outer tube is inside of you, use your index finger to push the inner tube (the tube where the removal string is connected) through the outer tube.

Once the inner tube is all the way in, use your thumb and middle finger to remove the applicator or outer tube. Make sure that the string hangs outside of the vaginal opening. Later, when you are ready to remove the tampon, hold the string and gently pull it downward until the entire tampon is out.
If the tampon is inserted correctly, you should not feel it. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, you may have inserted the tampon incorrectly or the tampon may not be placed far enough into the vagina. If this happens, just remove the tampon and start again with a new tampon. Remember that practice makes perfect. If you don't get it on the first try, your second try will most likely be successful. Instead of getting frustrated and giving up, relax and try again!

first - i think if your asking this question here then you cannot ask you mom for whatever reason

second this is a scary thing and I was once there, too.

third - relax

read the instructions on the package of tampons that you buy, I would recommend a curved tip plastic applicator and plunger, any brand - many women use the applicatorless tampons but you should start with the applicator.

its really simple when you have your cycle find the first oriffice from the top of your vagina - where your bleeding is comming from.

the directions in the tampon guides will have pictures and very specific directions. i am very certain that you will be able to learn this without trouble.

good luck

You put the tampon in the middle hole. You can use a small mirror to find it if your not sure. The tampon will not fit into your pee hole, and if you put it in the back hole, you will definitely feel it. You can even try finding the hole by putting your finger up there. (Sorry if this sounds disgusting to you, but it helps)

You insert the tampon lower than the vagina hole bot above the butt hole. you want to be careful because it can hurt. you can feel around a bit before you try to put it in so that way you know exactly where to put the tampon.

You've pretty much got two "holes" down there: 1) vagina 2) urethra. You urinate from your urethra. Your vagina is where your tampon goes. Your vagina is the "bigger" hole---it can be difficult to locate your urethra.

*Note: You CAN urinate while you have a tampon in!

Just practice putting the tampon in in different positions---eventually you'll get the hang of it. Remember to use the lowest absorbancy you need to avoid TSS.

there is your urethra and there is your vagina. When you go to the bathroom and urinate it exits your body through the urethra. The vaginal opening (where you want to put the tampon) is further back and close to the anus (where your poop comes out).

don't be embarrassed. i grew up without a mom and had the same sort of questions.
