but they haven't left feedback yet and neither have I.
Who should leave it first?

In all my buying on ebay I've never had to leave feedback first which is why I'm asking. I've only sold twice and both times I left feedback immediately after they paid.

In my personal opinion I wouldn't leave feedback if they don't do it first.
It's in very poor taste on their part and they are the ones who truly need feedback in order to gain customers.
I make it a point never to buy from them again b/c of this as well.
Unfortunately these sellers on ebay will always exist and the only way to get back at them is to NOT leave feedback.
Goodluck with your decision!

There is actually no rule for this but the way of feedback leaving on eBay is plain and simple:

The buyer leaves feedback then the seller does based on your feedback. Don't ask me why because I couldnt' tell you, that's just the way it is.

Usually it will say something to this effect on the auction page: "I will leave feedback once it is left for me... or I have a system that automatically leaves positive feedback once it is recieved (which isn't actually true, they probably just say that to make sure you leave it first)

Most people think that the seller should leave it first because the buyers fulfil their part of the auction by sending the money first which made perfect sence to me. Until I became a seller myself. I have now realized that sellers like feeback first because once a buyer leaves positive feedback they can't later come back and try to scam the seller by saying the product was bad or something wrong with it or it took forever or something went wrong, etc... because they have the positive feedback to prove that the buyer is just trying to get his/her money back for nothing. This may not be the case for everybody, but you never know who you are selling/buying from over the internet. It very well may be a con-artist.

Sellers also like to get feedback before leaving it because it gives them a more likly chance of getting positive feedback so that their feedback score goes up and more people feel confortable buying from them so they get more money and a bigger buying market so they can sell their items quicker and easier.

If you have a good score and don't care about feedback, don't feel the need to leave any, but most chances are buyers who don't leave it, don't get it.

When I have bought items, the seller left feedback right after they got paid and before I got the item. But I don't see anything wrong with you leaving the feedback and then asking them to do likewise.

You should... if you're happy leave good feedback.. they will recipricate... If you're unhappy then you should contact them first...

Alot of sellers will wait for feedback from the buyers before they leave feedback (Incase they get back feedback for no reason)
