Gram and Simple Staining?

Hey, I need to know what the difference between simple and gram staining is and how can you differentiate between the two cells using both techniques?

Simple staining allows you to see the bacteria that is grown. Gram staining allows you to see if the bacteria is a gram positive or gram negative one.
