DDR DDR3 and DDR3 are memory types.

While graphics cards do come with different DDR memory, that is memory for the graphics card that just the graphics card uses for graphics memory -- the model or memory in your machine is irrelevent. Such as, you can have a graphics card that uses DDR2 or DDR3 memory and use SDRAM or DDR system memory just fine.

The thing you need to find out if you get a correct slot graphics card. Such as AGP or PCI-Express.

According to the manufacturer page for your specific system (Located at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1118241&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us Your system has a PCI-Express slot and not an AGP, so you need to make sure you get a PCI-Express video card.

Cheers.

DDR, DDR2, DDR3 are memory types, and have very little to do with graphics. The link below (all on 1 line) tells you everything you never wanted to know about your HP Pavilion a1210n.

Looking at the motherboard specifications, I see it has a PCI Express slot. If you want to buy a compatible video card, get one that fits PCI Express.
