A bot is a program, designed to automatically perform a specific task. In this case, the bot was designed to post a link, (probably advertisement). But different bots have different purposes.

At the moment, the bot has answered over 11,000 questions, all with some spam URL.

Oddly enough, it has 4 "Best " answers so far.

It is simply spam advertising, it costs almost nothing, and heaven only knows how many people will visit the URL out of naivete or curiousity.
