the whole thing was total hypocrisy

no one had a problem with the singers sexually grinding all over each other, but .2 milliseconds of nudity - OH NO!!!! NOT SOMEONE NAKED, LIKE WE WERE BORN! HOW TERRIBLE!!!!

give me a break. every show on prime time tv is about people getting murdered. americans just want to pretend they're morally superior. viagra and cialis commercials during football? just fine! teach your children all about erections, parents! but breasts, that they drank milk from to give them life? EVIL!

and yes timberlake and jackson are idiots, too

the funniest thing is nobody even actually SAW the breast until they looked it up on the internet later... on tv it lasted for like 1 second, you couldn't see anything, and it was the most downloaded thing ever on the internet (literally, they counted). total hypocrisy.

No it's NIPPLES which are the problem in the USA and the Americans get very offended by them. If you go to Disneyland and have your photo taken on a ride and the wind blows away your shirt and shock horror a nipple is exposed they won't sell you the photo - and that's if you are male! TRUE - heard this story the other day so they let him have another go on the ride with his shirt buttoned up! Bless

Yes. It wasn't about race at all, but just that she exposed a breast at such a big event where many children were watching alongside adults. I doubt that many men were complaining, but there were children.

People don't really see Janet Jackson as black as much as they see her as an entertainer. There were no knuckleheaded comments about color related to the incident. It was all about the breast. So, to answer your question, directly, yes it would have been the same either way.

specific, it became area of the plan, yet society's reaction to it became absurd and hypocritical. The leisure were starting to be further and added titillating and bare-skinned. moreover, we are a society that has little project with seeing human beings maimed, tortured and in simple terms undeniable shot to shreds in video clips, and yet, we see a rapid flash of breast and we freak out. We act as though it relatively is the top of the international. i became observing the large Bowl whilst this occurred, and my reaction became, "Did I in simple terms see a nipple?" and then I forgot approximately it because it went to a commercial. I do think of Jackson needed her breast shown, as pop artists were resorting further and added to such gimmicks to learn recognition or get into the traditional public eye. yet who's conscious of for specific. It did verify out the time that the two have been taken aback/embarrassed that it occurred, yet that would have been performing on their area. What became extra offensive became how Timberlake at as quickly as all started backpedaling removed from the incident even nonetheless he became a keen spouse in it. i think of Jackson took the blame in simple terms to guard him, yet, being the best chum that he became, he thoroughly bumped off himself from the situation and emerged unscathed.

If Janet was purple, the media would have exploited her anyway.

I've had ample time to view that incident and it doesn't appear that she knew or planned that to happen, but the media had a field day about it.

Kinda like when Micheals hair caught on fire during a pepsi commerical.

The media ate it up!

I missed it, actually. (we were all watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind during the game only to pause to see the commercials. *lol*)

No, I think it really must be a sex in the media issue. If there was anything racially linked to it, I think someone would have flashed the Race Card a LONG time ago.

I thought the issue had something to do with nudity...

I missed it when it happened but I still don't really see the big deal about the whole thing. The part that I found interesting was that Justin Timberlake was part of what happened and no one seemed to care that he was involved.

The whole Janet Jackson "boobgate" had to do with America's immature view of sex. You can portray the most horrid crimes on network tv, but the moment a boob is shown on tv, the prudes come out screaming. Why aren't they as upset by the violence on tv? Race had nothing to do with it.

Wotchoo talkin bout Willis?!

Seriously - I didn't think it was an issue. What difference does it make?! Black, white, green, yellow, orange-striped with pink polkadots - a tit is a tit.
