My knee constantly feels like it has to crack. I can only crack it when I put my leg in a certain position, but it brings no relief after it's cracked. It's a constant uncomfortable feeling. A couple of times, it felt like it locked and it was severely painful for just a second and then it released. Any answers?

Hey locked-knee! Sorry about the problems. Many things could be going on with your knee, but with the limited history you provide, it seems most likely that you have a tear of the meniscus, which is a horseshoe shaped cartilage lining the knee joint. When the meniscus is torn, a piece can become stuck in the joint of the knee and cause a locking sensation until it move out of the position it is stuck in. An orthopedic doctor, PA, or NP could give you more info, and take a better history and do an exam. Look up "meniscus tear" on the internet and see if it describes your situation, then see an orthopedist! Good luck! FYI, there is no injury needed to have a tear of the meniscus!

More than likely you have ligaments out of alignment around the knee. See someone who deals in sports medicine they will be able asess the situation and align them if that's the problem
