I have had the holiday blues since 1987. I never really like xmas to begin with and that was the day in 1987 that I found out that my ex was cheating on me.
I found that anti-depressants do help, but they don't take away the bad memories.
Don't drown your sorrows or go off on a spending spree. If you can take a couple of days off, go to a different town and check into a hotel with a pool and treat yourself to a little pampering.

I'm already burned out and it is not even Christmas yet. The music, the advertising, the spending un-godley amounts of money that I really don't have. But still do it because I have three girls who I would give my life for in a minute. It's Jesus Birthday, and an excuse for all of to go crazy and spend ,spend, spend, so we can get people things that we never had, or would like to have.Give ,give, give.I don't know I think most us are happier once the New Year hits ,so we can make new goals for ourselves, and start all over again the same old cylcle, year after year, but it gets better, right? We will see thats my goal once again.Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! & Happy New Year!

I get the holiday blues every year. Most of my family is dead so Im pretty much by myself except for my husband. Its a very depressing time for me. I even volunteer to work on the holiday just to avoid it.

No and yes. No because I finished my Christmas shopping, I
started early (in August). Yes because I spent my money on
presents and now I'm short on money because I need to get a
smog and my tags, plus I still owe my car insurance money.
Plus my other bills as well, but they are not a lot. Other then
that I'm alright, as long as I'm with my family.

Oh man... YES!
But... if you can't make it... fake it. It is a state of mind. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a real thing... Not to mention all the expectations and other stressors. Eeeek...
I'd give you a hug and invite you to join the fire pit :) but alas....
Keep your chin up... :)
