Its possible but unlikely. There can be a hormone shift that can cause period bleeding but it would be very light and brief. The pregnancy tests that are sold over the counter are based on embryo generating a hormone hCG. This isn't present for the first couple of weeks but could be even longer until there is enough to get a dark line. If you were to be seen in a clinic complaining of 'pregnancy symptoms' they would use this type of test to begin with. I would by a brand name test at the store and regardless of results either see your primary doctor for evaluation or an ob/gyn if the test is positive.

You are clearly not pregnant. Pregnant women do not get periods. It was perfectly normal to get 2 periods last month because there were 5 sundays in the month and you got your "first" period on the first sunday.

I think you answered your own question when you said "My sister and mother have had pregnancy with periods."

I would go to the doctor. Irregular periods are not a thing to be messed with. There could be a variety of things that are wrong. Including the fact that you could be pregnant and something needs to be done about the bleeding.

Yes you can. I have known other women besides myself who have bled during their pregnancies, and/or dont get a positive reading until later in the pregnancy. I am also not getting a positive reading on a pee test-go get yourself a blood test done-they are very sensitive tests and will come back positive even if you are in the very early stages of pregnancy. Good luck and have a healthy baby!!

Missy,

Absolutely you can have your period and be pregnant. It's not (typically) like a "normal" period - because you aren't ovulating, etc...
I would strongly suggest getting to your doctor for a blood test. If you don't have a doctor or don't have insurance, get to your local health department - they will test you for free and help you financially with your pregnancy. They are often overworked and underpaid, but are really good people and won't judge you.
Here's to you - best wishes!

Yes you could be., I agree with Rita you should go see a doctor to get another test to be sure. My daughter had irregular periods as well for about 2 mos. but she found out that she was pregnant!

Peace,

Hope

Go see a doctor, and they can draw a serum (blood) pregnancy test. It's more accurate than the pee-on-a-stick tests. If you aren't pregnant, you need to see a doctor anyways, to talk about your irregular periods.
