For one thing, President Bush did not WIN the first election. It was handed to him by the Supreme Court because of the voting problem in parts of Florida.
Candidates for the Presidency are NOT elected by the people. They are elected by the Electoral College. Some states have more electoral votes than others. So a candidate can have won the popular vote and still not win the election. Go figure.

Actually Bush won the eletorial college but lost the popular vote and really when you look at the choices that we did have we probably came out better than we could have. To run for president in the United States you have to have millions of dollars and the politicians that run owe many favors for the money that they raise. It is a broken system. Check out Unity08.com

Unfortunately, Chief Justice Rehnquist and Justices O'Connor, Scalia, Kennedy, and Thomas that Bush was very good, too. So they helped to ensure that Bush did win 2000.

I really don't think there were any great choices when Bush won.
Sometimes I wonder why we aren't more focused on who is in
the House, the senate and the congress. What a mess it all seems to be.The next election I think is going to be something
for us all to remember. It is becoming very intersting.

Uh oh...you're going to get the conspiracy theorists on here talking about Florida and Ohio again!
Pretty soon it will be President Bush is "hiding the technology to give us 1.21 gigawatts, so we use the Flux Capacitor in a Delorian and go back and change Florida, so he's never in office".
(Shaking fist) Dang you, Marty McFly!!!!!!
