typically -R is compatable with more players, most most players these days take both though.....so i would say -R is a little bit better. theres no difference in quality, just a different format.

While on a technical level, both are the same. On a compatibility level, DVD-R is much better. There are more DVD players that can play DVD-R, than DVD+R.

DVD-R: the most universal recordable DVD format. DVD+R: It's easier to use than DVD-R, while still playable on most current DVD players. Both have to be finalized before they can play in another DVD player.

DVD - R's are usually compatible in more home stand-alone DVD players.

I use +R as well, but that is because the computer only writes on +Rs.
They are both they same. It's just that some computers can write on +R, -R, or maybe both.
It doesnt really matter.
But RW(+or-) are probably the best because they can be reused. That's also why they are more expensive, though!

+R is better. Less errors while writing.

But otherwise, they're the same as each other.
