Yes, I knew someone that sneezed and hers fell out and before someone could help her a lion ate her up and then spit her out, said she tasted like tuna and he didn't like it.

YES that's why it's an automatic reflex to close them, those without that reflex (according to Darwin) lost their sight and were promptly eaten by predators or cannibals (I got my EYE on you).
