You'll have to go back to the UK. If y'all are sure you want to get married, both of y'all need to file for a fiance visa with USA immigration. Your fiance will have to send the forms, along with a $170 fee. You can get married in the USA, but, if you plan on working there you'll need a Social Security number and everything else. You dont want to take the chance of being deported home and that can make everything worse to file for you to move to the USA. Do it the legal way, send the proper forms and all that and wait. Doing it illegally can cause you to never be able to live in the USA ever.

When I married my husband here in the US. (I am a Brit he is USA) I then went to immigration. They did not make me leave. Some other folks in the same situation where they were trying to come in after being married outside the USA, were denied until they "looked into it". This was sometimes up to 6 months.
e-mail me direct for any other help I can give.
Rules here have become far more strict than when I married 12 years ago.
Whatever happens, GOOD LUCK.

Well it kind of depends on the situation...
If your fiancee' is in the US military, usually you are allowed to live with them right away.
If your fiancee' is a civilian, he will have to file a fiancee visa to begin your immigration process I'd research the US Consulate in the UK as well to see what information they may have. They are usually quite helpful and informative. Good luck and wishing you success!

Check with the US Consulate or Embassy nearest you. I think you can obtain a "fiancee visa" which you can have extended once you are in the US. The Embassy/Consulate can give you solid information.

I`ve been in a similar position to you and i can honestly say that you can stay there, but it will as everything else in that cocked up country set you back a fortune! your better off getting married in the uk first then applying over there, thats if you really want to move to that dump????????????

unfortunately no, you still have to do the immigration BS, you don't always have to return home to get a visa, but you should put the wheels in motion before the marriage if you can.
