Live fast die young is not my preference anymore.
Currently I am living the 4th part of my life..
2 were short, vibrant, very interesting, experimental, explorative, fast and therefore truly amazing but also dangerous, suicidal, idiotic, very weird and many a time I could've (unknowingly back then) popped it.. and I possibly did hurt a lot of people by being very selfcentered.. I guess it was the best and worst of times all rolled in one.
The first and the current one are more peaceful and (hopefully) lasting..well that is how I thought of the first time round aswel, but that is when I was a child and felt safe and protected.
To answer the question.. NOW I would surely settle for a long healthy peaceful, protected, loving, safe life. - you need time to overthink what you have done and what you got out of life. I can do that now.. well I may be an exception to the rule..

Unfortunately, at this point I feel I cannot decide which I am aiming for, for I can't turn back time.
I have lived my life throughout my teens and 20s as if I would be dead by 30. I had an amazing time - but, alas, I am still alive. Now things have calmed down I would actually like a long healthy peaceful life.
But I fear the damage is done....

Splendid, meaty question!
I am aiming for long-healthy-peaceful.... and I think, given the unhappiness in today's society... that that is pretty darned AMAZING in itself.
I'm heading towards 60 (in a few more years), have been married to a wonderful guy for 36+ years, have 2 wonderful sons, a lovely daughter-in-law and a sweetie-pie granddaughter and we all live together under one roof-- after years of hardly seeing each other this is a great thrill.... and economically sensible, right?
My husband and I both retired early-ish from long-term jobs. I was a social worker. Now I have a Comprehensive Coaching Certificate and am having a lot of fun helping people find out what it is they really really want in their lives, and then helping them get it.
Both of my parents are still alive. One of my New Year's resolutions is going to be to connect with so many of my other extended family members.... this past week I spoke to two aunties I haven't talked to for a while.
I grew up in a small prairie town and was a 'convent boarder' for some of my school years. I am no longer Catholic, but I do believe in God and was baptized as an adult into a Bible-believing faith. My husband is going on a mission trip in March, and together with another group we are planning to "plant" another church in our community over the next few years.
This is close to being my dream life! Thanks for asking about it.

I would opt for the long, peaceful one. Some would think that it would be boring and monotone but reading, learning and then creating, having family, great conversations or playing board games could be just as amazing. It all depends on what kind of a person you are. I strongly believe that I'm able to make my ordinary life a worthy one.

Both have their good points... If you are the kind of person who goes for amazing how terrible would it be to lose it too soon... Long and peaceful sounds good I guess as long as peaceful doesn't turn into boredom and regret.
As we have no way of knowing I think we should live for the moment and try to have a good life and be remembered for what you would want to be remembered for by the people you care for.

I'm in my mid-forties - not ready to pop off just yet, but beginning to realise that I'm not a world-class athlete either. Some opportunities are becoming inaccessible e.g. If I want to go parachute jumping with my daughter I have to get a health check-up from a GP - HUH? I'm going to do something pretty stupid and jump out the door of a Cessna and you wanna check my blood-pressure first? Take a break, I'll pay for the Kit-Kat.
Short, fast, furious, outrageously in-your-face and all those sort of things is the way to live.
A nice cup of tea in front of the TV watching Emmerdale? Nah.

I think I'll go with eveyone else on this one... A long healthy peaceful life would be great because it would give me the time and energy to do and experience many amazing things... I'm 18 years old. I have my whole life ahead of me. I'm married. We want kids sooner or later, but we also want to travel and pursue our dreams even if we never achieve them... We went to Paris for our honeymoon and for our one year anniversary we plan on going to Japan. I hope you live a LONG, AMAZING life and Happy Holidays!
