My house has settled quite a bit and is showing signs of leaking in some places up stairs. My floor is dropping where my stairwell is. I am seeing cracks in my bathroom floor and walls through out my original part of the house.

Good luck! About the best you can hope for is that George Washington or someone of historical significance was born there.. then you might qualify for a low interest loan. My house is nearly 100 years old and I feel your pain. Pick a room or a trouble spot and concentrate the money and time on THAT project until it is done, otherwise it can be a little overwhelming. Good luck and if we can help....ask. You probably need to address the settling problem first

Why is it that WE THE TAX PAYERS should pay for you to remodel your house. If you like your old house start fixing it up a little at a time so that you can afford to do it your self like the rest of us.
