I live with my sister and brother in-law and we have lived together for years and they have since has a child and now my brother inlaw wants to take off our old address mark on the house and place one with the same numbering but it now says the family of ____ and his last name and not one with my last name as well because (according to him) I'm only one person-but I still pay my rent and bills associated with living in the same house-and right now I just changed jobs and I can't afford to live alone and I love my sister and her kid (not so much the husband anymore)What should I do?

So what if your brother wants to put his FAMILY name on the mailbox....you will STILL be getting your mail addressed to you. Quit being such a WHINER it's quite obvious you're not ready to be on your own whether you could afford to be or not. Grow up.

You should agree that he has the right to put any sign he likes in front of his house. You are a boarder. You have no say in it.

I say fight for it! You deserve to have your name on that adress label, and any other customized items that household may accquire.
