Oh... they are terrible and of all the bugs, etc etc I would probably do it myself but for bed bugs... the best way(the ONLY way) is with a professional exterminator. They are nasty and very hard to exterminate by yourself

Wash all of your bedding, if you still have them then they have infested the padding in your matress, which means you need a new mattress, unless you want to pay lots for extermination. Wikipedia has some interesting ideas on self extermination at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_bugs.
Everyone I know who has had bed bugs has decided it was in their best interests to burn their matress and get a new one.

identify the bug, get one and have someone an entimologist perhaps at your local university. confirm what it is first. do some major house cleaning , throw out your current bed, get a new one, clean your home very thoroughly on a regular bases.
