well...I'm about 2 months along and I don't have morning sickness but feel nasaus all the time. It seems like I feel better if I'm eating about every 2-3 hours. Small things. Toast works best for me. Ginger ale will help settle your stomach along with some ginger decaffeinated tea. Crackers...which you will begin to hate along with toast. I haven't been able to eat things with a tomato base to them. No pizza, spaghetti, chili, etc.... That makes my stomach really upset. When I was pregnant with my first child I ate crab legs every week. I guess that was my craving. I understand about some of those things being in high in mercury but ask your doctor. Don't rely on someone telling you DO NOT EAT SEAFOOD period. It didn't poison my baby and she is a super smart 3 year old. Meat is the same way. I'm talking cow meat. I always get my steak rare to medium rare everywhere I go. Even when I was pregnant. There's nothing wrong with cow meat. My brother and sisters used to eat hamburger meat raw when we were little. It never made them sick. Just make sure you ask your doctor. I think your getting a some advice from people that just aren't familiar with the way pregnancy really works.

eat whatever you can keep down.
Avoid raw meats and dont eat fish, until you get the murcury warning list from your OB, it will show you which are safe in moderation, and which should never be eaten. Even things like canned tuna need to be avoided.
Take your prenatal.
Your body will provide what your baby need whether you eat it or not, the goal is to eat healthy so your body has enough to take care of an replenish itself.
this is hard to do in the begining when you feel sick :) Just eat.

go to a site like babycentral.com and you can find a list of things that should be avoided. the I remember are anything that's not pasturized, fresh tuna (and limit canned tuna), shark, feta cheese. that's all that comes to mind.
fruits and veggies are great of course, just try to eat a balanced diet, and don't forget your vitamins!
