It's an e machine. In the windows log on settings I tried to initiate the password setting. Now it comes up with the previous owners name and the password I set is not working. It asks for user name and password. How can I get back in?

windows 2000, as I read my own q, it's may look like I'm trying to get into someone elses comp when I was trying to secure my own from others. I locked myself out. It was under paswords in control panel I did my damage. I just got the comp and it was used. It still had many of the previous owners settings in place. Now when I turn it on it goes right to a menue of user name and password, having the previuos owners name in the user name box.
