okay well today i asked my mom if i could get a second peircing in my ear. i want it next to my first one, on the part that has "fat" on it. she said that i couldnt until i got a 80 average on my next report card. shes always bribing me with my grades. she also thinks that i dont deserve it. but im trustworthy, respectful, honest, i always do the right thing, never ask for something that i cant get when i go shopping, im caring, and some-what responsible. how can i convince her tht i deserve it, am not to young(13), and tht i am being bribbed with something tht i cant get, and she know tht(my average is 73 and she thinks tht im ganna fail grade 8(50-) and that im stupid)

Your mom is giving you an incentive.
I'm a purest. I adore pierced ears but don't care for multiple piercings. As a parent I'd simply say no.
I truly think incentives are a good idea though. I'd have no problem bringing home a fabulous toy and showing it to a 3 year old ... and letting her know that it's hers when she's potty trained.
What's wrong with incentives? We all need them. It's the reason we work and choose the companies that we do.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your mom wanting you to have at least an 80% average. 73% is below average (on a standard scale with 75 being the average). Why is it not possible for you to not get that? Getting good grades (doing homework, studying, etc) shows responsibility and that you are ready to make an adult decision such as a piercing.
Good luck on getting your grades up. It might be hard, but it'll be worth it- not because you get your ears pierced but because you will know that you can accomplish something you have set out to do.

your mom is just looking out for you and wants you to try hard in school. it seems stupid now but it will make sense when your older (I know you probly hate hearing that at age 13) You sound like a good person, just try your hardest and you'll get your peircing. trust me, that's a lot more than some parents would say so think of it that way too.

She doesn't think that you are stupid, she just wants you to succeed. If you really can't raise your grades, then talk to her about getting a tutor for you in subjects you struggle with.
And I disagree with the person who said a 73 average is very good, it's not!

You grades are already very good. I guess all you can do really is just try harder with school to meet that average.

well if on your grading scale a 73 is a C...then you have an average grade. although i would work harder to bring it up.

She doesn't think you are stupid. She's trying to give you an incentive to work harder because she knows that you can do it.Just work hard and meet your goal and you will get what you want.

nothing in this world is free kid, you want your peircing, you get those grades up, she sounds more then reasonable to me
