I have a 1996 chevy 2500 series diesel. can i put a 5.7 in it's place and connect it to the trans.?

what i want know is can you take a diesel engine out and put a gasoline engine in and have it bolt up to the trans. that is already in there?

The 4l80-e trans will bolt right up , but you will need a computer and wiring harness for the 5.7 4l80-e set up N.ot wanting to go into a lot of detailed about the swap, but a fuel pump will also have to be installed in tank with the wiring also. a lot of work!
