It is a highly unfair system---granted President is an individual and the other two branches decide by a majority vote; but still, we see the same band of politicians get in again and again.

There really needs to be term limits in our government. No more than 6-8 years, and you must leave, unless you run for president. Fresh blood is always the better option for running any organization..

I don't even believe in limiting the terms of Presidents, much less adding term limits for Congress and the federal judges.

I have no idea at all what you mean by "the same band of politicians," who keep getting re-elected. The voters obviously do know how to throw out incumbents who have even been in office for over 20 years. And the fact that the voters can and do throw out even long-time incumbents who had seemed like they were so completely "entrenched" is a part of the reason why I say that Congress should NOT have term limits.

The President IS limited to only two terms, and not every President wins his only chance for re-election (Carter, Bush 41).

Why would there be term limits when the public will decide based upon performance and good behavior, unless you are stating that the public is not voting wisely.

The reason why this happens is because the average voter is emotionally tied to their particular party. If the average voter was more objective and less competitive, then you may see the public vote more smart.

Unfortunately, the average voter is more interested in seeing their party voted than who is the best person for the job.

example: why was mayor Barry in D.C. re-elected after being convicted for cocaine? Why did the voters think he was the best choice?
