Global warming caused by man, is a fu*kin joke. Only fu*kin stupid morons believe this. I'm not prepared to pay taxes period. Never mind pay more for a fictious, stupid, moronic idea propagated by a corrupt government. How exactly does a dollar bill reduce pollution? Fu*kin bleeding heart do-gooders should be flogged. The lies propagated by the government are exposed every day, yet the stupid, ignorant masses jump on this bandwagon, like a two dollar whore on big dick. Morons are so gullible. Fu*kin dumb co*ksuckeres.

grow a brain, morons.

If we spent less, we would pay less tax, and do our bit for the enironment at the same time.

There is no way that ANY government can change things; and certanly not by taxation.

It's interesting that governments immediately target motor-vehicles, in spite of the fact that they are only a small component in invironmental terms. The politicians are, as usual, trying to be seen to do something, even if they cannot.

I've long held the view that centralised government departments and services are one of the biggest reasons for congestion and pollution, and another BIG factor is the throw-away society. If manufacturers had to prove that their products lasted a minimum of 10 years, and that this was law, then it would have the best possible effect on pollution, preservation of resources and congestion on the roads.

If there was a genuine effort to save the environment then yes id say most people would but Gordon Browns 1p or whatever it was adding on to fuel in an attempt to 'protect the environment' was just a pathetic excuse to line the governments pockets - 1p is nothing but an insult to environmentalists, he will slap more on cigs & alchocol come the proper budget - its just another money making exercise and not a committment to help reduce global warming.
Yes I think most people would support some sort of policy or possible tax change to help save environment - prehaps a tax based on the quantity of emmissions of certain gases? But any profit / tax money brought in should be used to educate people on how they can make simple changes to help - energy efficiency / recycling / car pools - sharing journeys. They should introduce more greenbelts, limit planning........... So much could be done much at little cost - its simply awareness and provision of cost efficient simple resources.

Why would we need to pay more taxes to save the environment? Couldn't we just cut spending on some of those social programs that encourage lazy people to stay that way. As for the individual who suggested cutting the money for corporations, are you talking about the corporations who employ our citizens, provide health insurance to their workers, pay into their employees 401k programs, provide them with tuition reimbursement and generally raise the quality of living for all their employees. Big business is not the bad guy!!!

Most people think that environment is not their problem and they get nothing in return by looking after it. Of course this is a wrong view, as everybody is involved with the environment and is responsible for its maintenance. Those who realise it wouldnt mind paying taxes for this, provided the Govt. shows that the money collected is being used productively. The Govt. should also disseminate information about abuse of environment and how this affectes all of us.
Ideally speaking, all people should be prepared to pay a small tax for a clean and sustainable environment.

yes, if someone could explain how paying more taxes would help save the environment! People won't use their cars less, putting up airline prices is just making life sh*t for ordinary people again (just when it was getting better). It's got sod all to do with taxes, it's these giant corporations from the states, China , Russia etc that have got to learn to earn a couple of % less a year, but you know damn well the won't and it's us mugs that are going to pay for it!!!

No and if you think that the fat jock has raised petrol and air travel duty to help the environment you is a fool. We pay billions and billions of pounds to that clinically obese incompetent moron in road tax, car insurance tax and duty on petrol and yet have the roads gotten any better, has the problem of traffic been sorted? No and why, because that fat turd of lard has blown these billions on the dome, scottish & welsh assemblies.

NO because there is no proof that taxes raised are spent on the environmental projects. Its the case that green taxes are band waggon taxes used by governments to pronounce their Green credentials to appease worried constituents and to be seen doing something while in fact its a cynical hood winking exercise to divert the fact that there isn't much we can do to offset the onset of global warming.

No! I am not prepared to pay more taxes to save anything.

If the environment is in trouble, notice I said if, increased taxes
aren't going to save it. It can be saved without paying more in taxes.
Think about that. Then think some more. You'll understand
eventually.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!!!

yes, if it was genuin.but no, because it is not genuin.the reason is
there are heavy trucks traveling thousands of miles across many countries delivering goods that can be made on our own doorstep and provide full employment, to have to pay tax for every mile we travel is just to kick the working class of the road and make more room for the rich, if britain was made to stand on its own feet by making its own goods and only bringing in what we could not make ourselves, to save loads of energy, then it would be genuin. we willsend shirts on a four thousand mile trip to have colours sewn on, because the bosses get it done cheeper abroad. when this stops then yes, but not before.
