I recently had my first child in Sept...and I was in the same boat during my pregnance...I couldn't decide whether to go natural or have a c-section....I just couldn't imagine pushing a child through that tiny hole...lol...I asked everyone and they all told me the same thing...go with the natural childbirth...we're made to give birth...With C-sections, it takes more time to recover and you also end up with a nasty looking scar most of the time...Hope this helps!

Well I kinda had both experiences. My water broke and I was in labor for 12 hours and pushing for almost 3 hours and the top of my sons head was out but his shoulders were stuck on my pelvic bone and he was not coming out. They had to do an emergency c-section to get him out.So I got to feel what real labor was like and the pushing-but I just didn't get to push him all the way out.And let me tell you-it hurts-both real labor and the recovery from the c-section.
I am 30 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and have another c-section scheduled.I am not even going to try to push another baby out because they say there is a high chance of him getting stuck too.

Natural is so much better for the baby. The pressure of going through the birth canal helps to stimulate thier nervous system.
I did recover quickly from a c-section though. I wouldn't rule out either, but I would recommend trying to do it naturally if at all possible

Hello
I didn't choose to have a c section for my first child and I really hated it. the scar took ages to heal, I had no sensations on that part of my body for two years... My second child was born naturally and even though it was a difficult delivering (they had to break my coccyx !) I was so happy I didn't mind the pain at all ! Really the best thing to do is do what you're confortable with. I believe when you have the choice that a natural birth makes you proud of yourself too
excuse my English, I'm French and trying to pratice it

Having had a organic start that became very annoying and the place i ended up with 2 hundred stitches and a torn rectum, a transfusion and a visit to the working room each and every week later....and then a c-area some years later, can i say the c-area in my case became a hundred and fifty situations extra useful. no longer large yet particularly so lots extra gentle. and that i became in a position to develop my toddler no problems in any respect, as did the two one in each and every of the different mothers I reported in the ward who had had sections. My c-scar is down low and approximately 4 inches long. much less sizeable than my appendix scar. it relatively is in spite of works for you. do no longer enable different individuals placed you off in case you come back to a type you like or want a area. each and every start is diverse and you and your wide-spread practitioner ought to evaluate your individual scientific history and your concern and weigh up those hazards. do no longer hear to those who will attempt and scare you into believing organic brths are "good" and spectacular and easy and hardship unfastened whilst sections are "undesirable" and you get sliced open and your uterus lifted out! (by making use of the way whoever wrote that has no theory so do no longer hear to them, that may not what occurs in any respect). Do what's suitable for you.

I had my son natural with no epidural and I would recommend that she have it natural. As stated in previous answers why have a major surgery if you do not really need it. She does need to talk it over with her doctor though. There are many people who would have loved to have it natural but were unable do to circumstances they could not control. Always talk it over with the doctor first. And I give you much credit for adopting a child they are sure to love you for it.

Sometimes it's not a matter of choice. Tell her to get all the facts on both issues & talk with/ask questions from her doctor about her own situation. To me it's not a question of 'which is better' ... it's a case of what's best for the baby. Only her doctor can tell her.

i just had my baby this week adn i had her naturally...delivery with an epidural was a cinch...not any pain at all...waiting for the epidural, thought i was going to die but thats going to be with a c-section or a natural birth. i would recommend natural just cause they make you wait 2-3 days MORE in teh hospital to go home with a c-section than with a natural birth. the natural birth was just a lot of pressure but was absolutely amazing. best of luck to your friend :)

go natural why have major surgery if you dont need it. c-sections are more painful for alot longer than a natural. go natural its safer and easier most doctors wont just do a c-section theres has to be a medical reason

most women can recover from a natural birth faster, but its really a personal choice and that needs to be discussed between her and her dr.
i myself was lucky enough to have natural child birth with both pregnancies-including my twins. good luck to her!
