You probably come off as slightly snobbish and superficial. Most people assume that people with a lot of material things are superficial, and a lot of people absolutely hate that...Try talking to different "groups" at school and see what happens...you might get the cold shoulder at first, but you will eventually lose the reputation of being a snob. And try sharing the wealth. My parents also have more money than the rest of my friends parents, but it doesn't pose a problem, mainly because I don't flaunt it, and I love to share it with others.

Everyone? If everyone is calling you a snob then it is time for you to take a reality check. If only a few are calling you that perhaps out of jealousy then you can either ignore it or confront it. Sometime people use labels to define what they don't know. If that is the case then perhaps you need to introduce to these kids who you really are. By the way, do you know who that is?

Its because most kids got to work for extra money and know the real meaning of making a dollar.
Just be nice to these folks calling u a snob, they really dont mean it, they are just a bit jealous cause u are richly blessed by having rich parents and dont have to work for money.

Rich people often walk around with an air of entitlement. Their parents give them everything and they think that makes them better as a person than other people. They act like they are totally deserving of what has come to them by pure luck of birth.

I have one rich friend who is always saying, "I didn't earn this, I'm just a very lucky person". Everyone likes him for this.

My advise to you is show some humility.

Sure, you may not have asked for your wealth, but do you show it off? You may not mean to, but by treating things like iPods or Louis Vuittons casually, you're telling everybody in sight how rich you are. As for spoiled, it shows when you're asked to do things - like walk, or do physical exertion, or eat bad food in a noisy cafeteria with other people - that richer folk don't usually have to do.

If none of this applies to you, maybe they're just jealous, or you come across as unfriendly or aloof.

If you treat everyone like you'd like to be treated, then you're not a snob. If you do have money and treat others (who don't) like crap...then you definitely are a snob.

People are quick to label others, especially those with money, as "snobs"...whether they truly are or not.

Bear in mind, however...that some rich people truly are snobs.

Don't worry about what others think. Just treat others like you'd like to be treated and you'll be fine.

darlin you sound just like me in high school. my parents were well off and i got pretty much everything i wanted, except a roller coaster :) anyway, if you don't ask your parents for everything and just have to have all the high end name brands or you will just die, then you are not spoiled. people are very jealous and it also hurts that they can't have the things that you have. try going through your closet and donating things that you don't need to your local goodwill, hospice, social services office. that will make you feel better about yourself even if no one else knows that you did it. it's not your fault that you were born into an upper class family and you shouldn't have to feel bad for it. good luck darlin!

Well don't act like a snob, people may not care you have so much if you didn't act like your better then them.. Money doesn't make you better!!! People don't like others who flaunt what they have.. besides if you did that where i'm from, you wouldn't have that stuff long.. haha
