Its not considered missed untill its 12 hours late, it says it right on the instructions, read them, thats what they are there for.
DONT LISTEN TO THE IDIOTS BELOW ME, THE PILL IS EFFECTIVE AFTER ONE WEEK OF PERFECT USE! That's also in the instructions.

the 1st mth u have to use condoms in order for the bc to get use to your body and that is important. Chances are that the possibility of getting pregnant when consuming bc pills, child can get birth defect. I have been taking bc for 5 years and even sometimes I do forget to take it on the same timing, but pregnancy never did happened to me during those times. But birth control cannot b taken for long period of times. Do find other alternatives.

I thought you were supposed to use a back up method on your first pack of pills anyhow. You wouldn't get pregnant just because you were 2-3 hours late taking your pill.

when I went on the pill my OB/GYN instructed me to use condoms the first month to give my hormones time to adjust to the pills.
But, I missed pills before and was really bad at taking them at the same time....and I never got pregnant while taking the pill.
everywoman is different.

you should wait 3 months after starting BC before you start considering it effective. There have been plenty of children born to mothers who were on birth control, but, if your take it religously, and are in a long term monogomous relationship, you should be pretty safe having unprotected sex. I would suggest you still use a condom for the first 3 months you're on BC though, or if you change partners.

If you have just started taking birth control, you need to be on it at least thru one cycle before having unprotected sex. Abstain if possible, if not at least also use a condom, until after your next period.
