u've to check ur car's conditions:
1) is ur battery too old n no charging even though u can still start the engine.
2) check the bulb if too old change a new one.
3) is the silver coating 4 reflection still in good condition?
ur car model is too old,u may get headache to look 4 the spareparts 4 replacement.

the light switch is bad in the steering column, the one that switches from bright to dim.

HUGHBEAM SWITCH WIRE/CONTACT IN COLUME OR MAY BE THE FUSE ALSO CHECK THE LOW BEAM MAY BE BURNED OUT AND YOU ARE RUNNING THE HIGH BEAM

if your dimmer is mounted on the column, then the switch is bad inside the column!

it maybe because the bright light filament is burnt out or broken.
