I just finished a very ugly divorce wherein my husband purposely drug it out and forced me to spend all kinds of money I did not have, tried to get me fired, kicked out of my house and when I filed a restraining order he retaliated by doing the same and the judge denied both. Later on he filed another one against me and she granted it and it was full of lies and things i did not do. He took me all the way through mediation agreeing to settle and at the very end stood up and demanded a trial and started calling me names and followed me to my car the whole way he got right in my face and stared taunting me and saying how much money money i am going to have to spend, etc. when he has not spent a dime. I was so mad I started yelling at him and pushed him out of my way because he was blocking my path. He turned around ran back to the court filed a police report and restraining order and got a few homeless people (one with an address) to act as his witnesses. I was arraigned for battery

If you haven't already done this, contact the local domestic violence shelter then if you get nowhere there, go to the state division of domestic violence. Laws on domestic violence vary from state to state so your best option is to seek out advice from them. They often know more about the legal system regarding domestic violence then many lawyers do. I admire your strength in not letting this get you down enough to give up. Best of wishes to you.

The best thing to do is just let him have his way and never look back. I have been fighting for my kids for a long time and their dad has 2 feloneys and 12 domestic violence and there is more he does not abuse the kids, but he accused my husband and I that we do drugs and other things both of our records are clean and never have been in trouble and the judge in Ohio still gave him custody. I spent thousands of dollars and got no where. The kids will be 18 in 4 years so I just let it go. It will keep you sane, Just go forward and forget about that jerk!!!! Good Luck!

Get the hell away from him. You are lucky to come out of this with your skin let alone anything else.
