Smokey and the Bandie question?

A while back i heard through a friend talk of Smokey and the Bandit 4. the rumor was JR would be the new sherrif (scarry isnt it). And maybe Burt Rynolds but no word for sure on main cast..

Has anyone else heard of this?

There is no Smokey 4 listed on IMDB, and Burt Reynolds has no project in the works related to the series.
