I use to get angry and regret it all the time and wondered if there was anyway to retain myself from getting upset at something. usually things I got at mad wasn't weren't it in the end because I secluded myself to work things through and missed out on all the fun. My way of staying happy is saying "Serenity now" (from Seinfeld) or just telling myself how good it will be if I don't get angry at this situation or this person. Have anyone else developed a way to control their anger?

Er, I take a holier-than-thou approach. Someone says something stupid and/or annoying and they're delegated to stupid status. At that point, I know not to get angry, because getting mad at stupid people for being stupid is totally counter-productive. It'd be like getting mad at Paris Hilton for being skanky. Don't get mad at things you can't change.
Yes, it's patronizing. I know. I wouldn't tell anyone else this little tidbit about me, but I don't know you and you asked. Thought I'd mention it.
-edit-
As for whether it works, people tell me I have the patience of kings. haha. Our little secret?

Yep. First i would beat people up. Then i started training for boxing, and freestyle fighting. Every time I was angry I would take it out on the punching bag. Then I realized I was extremely strong and had to be careful because I could really hurt somebody. I started meditating. Clearing my head, and I just do that every time somebody is pissing me off. Just relax and clear the mind, but either way I don't get mad easily. I rarely do but when i get mad is when i have to do that. You could also just let your anger out but in a controlled manner. If somebody is pissing you off why shouldn't you be able to do something, but if your the better person, just let it be.

Yes, by talking to someone close to me. By writing it down. Playing video games or doing something to take all the anger out. I'm not controlled by my anger because i've learned to not get angry at specific things. I don't like to cause unneeded stress.

It used to, but not anymore. I know what to do in order to forget about what I was angry about.
