I think that goes back to our primal instinct . . . . I think it's that men used to be able to detect the increase in pheremones around that "time of the month" in women, and they'd spend a couple of weeks wooing her, etc. . . the woman at that time feeling good and sexy herself, also adding to the "smell" the men were detecting . . . finally, when she gave in to doing you-know-what, she got pregnant, thus ensured the survival of the species (kinda like a courtship thing).

Good Question! Hmm, I guess because the stress being on our periods leads to sexual fustration. And we don't want to have sex on our period, because it seems gross, so we are just stuck being horny! Or that just might be me!

personally, I don't. I feel gross and all I want to do is sleep! lol But I think it is b/c of hormones are going crazy and most girls know they can't have it for a week.
