Because of hormone levels. You have a surge in your hormones when you have your period. It also has alot to do with the term forbidden fruit. For many centuries which dates back to Biblical Days, it was forbidden for a man to sleep with a woman during her period. When things are instilled in us as being forbidden, we crave it even more.

hormones probably, my says it's like scrathing an itch and she likes for us to do it in the shower.... also, having an orgasm helps the uterus shed it's lining
