oh my gosh yeah. I think of them as babies so I talk to them like babies. Their just like one of the family. They respond better too when their talked to in a baby tone. I love it!!!! Especially when their puppies or kittens you can't help it.

For some reason, we all raise our voices like when we talk to babies, and I sing to my cats too. They're the only ones that don't run away. LOL

GOD bless.

I don't go overboard with it -- I wouldn't with a human baby either -- but yeah, I do baby-talk to my cats and ferrets quite a bit. Especially my ferrets.

Someone speculated that we who adore ferrets like them so much because they're about the right size to be kissed, cuddled, and generally doted upon like infants. And they're funny and cute as heck. I think he was right... My animals are my babies. So, they get treated liked them. :)

I don't think there's anything wrong about talking baby-talk to them, or talking to them period. It makes perfect sense to those whose animals are their "children." :)

Yes, I talk baby talk to my cats. Just can't seem to help it. I look at them and it seems to come naturally. They are just such sweet furry creatures!

yeah, why not? we don't have any reason to use that "talk to your baby in a formal voice and it'll become a genius" theory on our dogs.

dogs love it. If fact it has been studied that if you take time to talk to your pet, especailly dogs, it helps them be more stable and happy.
