I dont have cable, so I dont watch music videos too much, but when I do, I am disgraced! Dont get me wrong...if girls want to dress in nearly nothing and shake and contort thier bodies like they are seizuring, thats fine by me. Its their choice. But why do so many female singers choose to do this? Is it because they arent confident enough in their ability to make music that they have to use sex appeal? Same with male singers who have girls dancing around in a simliar fashion in their videos. But, to credit the men, many of the songs accompanying the videos are themed with sexy women and one night stands. So at least its relevant. But why do female singers (*cough*Beyounce*cough*, and others, but shes the one who most readily comes to mind) take beautiful, meaningful songs, and then make the video look like an ameatur adult film? Why not make the video relate to the song?

yes, a TOTALLY agree. i wish people would just make a video that enhances the poetic meaning of the song...but some videos with that kind of dancing DO express the song sometimes (london bridge). they ruin pretty songs because some people (like guys that are only after barbie-like trophy-wives) actually like that stuff. but, even though they probably had to work all hard leaning the choerography etc. it's not worth it to put toghter a video with that kind of modern dance.

I don't know. Probably because some girl started it and others followed. Some guys, believe it or not, only watch those videos for the girls. Hip hop scares me.

I'll make a long story short,.....sex sells, seems most musicians are only singing for the cash...not so much trying to wright a great song.

seriously, artist work hard but come to a realization that if they dont do these things they will get nothing for it.
and they DO work HARD!

cudnt hav sed it better myself. Its mostly r'n'b, which is sh it non-music, so they have to strip and do slutty dances to get anyone to like them. They call themselves artists, i call them prostitutes.
