I say you should not agree with it because
1) It is sick. man plus man or women plus women does not equal a child. It would be messed up to raise a child without a parent of the opposite sex. The father offers toughness and hard lessons, and the women love and compassion.
2) You would have been stoned to death in the old testament if you were gay, but because of Jesus, who said it is wrong to kill but he still condemned it and still reminded us of their punishment, said it is possible to be saved, so if you are gay turn to Jesus and make your life make sense, i am a christian , and I am supportive of anyone who does. God bless.

How about realizing that marriage is a legal entity recognized by governments, not something dictated by a church? When you go get married, you have to have a government issued marriage license, right? When you get divorced, you have to get a lawyer and talk to a judge not a priest.
Marriage is a contract. And even if the two parties involved cannot have children (maybe because they are past that age or maybe have had other reasons), a marriage is allowed.
Someone deciding that a marriage is gross is not a reason for disallowing it. Isn't it better when two people try to stay together? Shouldn't they be accorded the same protection and rights under the law no matter what their genders? I think so.
Fact is, the Republican Vice-President of the United States has a daughter, Mary, who is a lesbian and is now pregnant. She is in a loving relationship with another woman. I think the kid being born will do better with two parents than just one.
So, get to know some human beings who love each other. Suppose there were laws against you marrying someone you loved? In most states in my lifetime, it was against the law for African-Americans to marry Whites. Was that right? Did it make sense?
Just my two cents. Love is better than law anyday.

Well first off lemmie say that we shouldn't base our laws on the bible cause it is a fairytale. Not everyone believes in that fairytale so I think it would be unfair to force them to live their lives by it. I don't think gays should be allowed to get married in the religious sense, because christians believe it is wrong and it is their religion after all. So we shouldn't force them to marry gays if they don't want to. Freedom of religion and all that. I do think that gays should be allowed to participate in a ceremony that links them as partners under federal law in every way that a marriage would. They live together, raise children together, have sex with each other, basically everything a married couple does and they should be given the same rights that married couples have. I don't think you realize how much they lose out on because they are discriminated against. If two gay women are raising a child together and after 14 years the actual parent of the child dies, the other parent has no rights to that child what so ever. Even though there is a loving parent their willing to take that child and raise it and love it, the child will get send to a foster home or possibly to a relative they don't know? Can you honestly say that is fair? That was just one situation out of many. I am not gay and personally don't care for most of the gay men I have met but regardless of our opinion, gays shouldn't be discriminated against because they are considered different from what is normal.

"they should keep it to themselves"- Do you? As a straight person, do you talk freely about your relationship with your partner(s)? Do you relish the idea of someday telling everyone that you met Mr or Ms Right, and that you are having a ceremony to celebrate that love? Why should a gay person have to hide what makes them happiest in their lives? Love is love is love. And while I disagree with the use of the word marriage to describe a same-sex union, I do believe that everyone has a right to a legal, solemnized contract between two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together. Do you know that a same sex couple doesn't even have visitation rights in a hospital? That if one partner dies, that the other has no legal right to even make funeral arrangements for him or her? That in both cases, the victim or the patient's blood relatives can override all decisions made by a same-sex partner, and there is no legal recourse-- even with documentation- BECAUSE the relationship isn't legally solemnized??? All a person's mother, father or sibling has to do is say, "I don't know so-and-so's partner," and nothing else matters.
I don't think that is right.

Marriage has NOTHING to do with the Bible. Marriage is a part of the government. PERIOD. The government sanctions marriage and gives people the benefits of being married, that's why gays will one day end up with the right to marry, because "separate but equal" just DOESN'T WORK. So sorry, whether you hate it or not, writing hate into law just won't work, it will always be overturned, thanks to a system of checks and balances. : ))

As someone else said: Marriage should not be dictated to by the bible. If that were the case, no one except straight Christians could get married in the USA.

Ummmm, NO! Should heteros 'keep it to themselves'? It's so unfair. Gay people pay their taxes like the other minotities and then they are less than equal..it's a farce. It's not gross or weird, it's human and as a 'Human' right, i don't think it is asking too much.

What does the bible have to do with marriage?
Marriage isn't a religious institution.
If it were, atheists couldn't get married.
